His education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree from California Lutheran University and is a holder of a California Real Estate Broker License.

What's in a name?
You could say that Derek and Heather have a thing for education; educating buyers and sellers about the real estate market, the ins-and-outs of short sales, how to navigate through the mortgage and escrow process, etc. But in addition to servicing buyers and sellers in the real estate market, Derek and Heather are also professional educators. So it was only natural that when it came to deciding on a name, they wanted something that would stand out; something that represented Derek’s philosophy on how the real estate process should be… pure. And so, /pyür/ was launched.
/pyür/ with its forward slashes and umlaut, has that tie-in to their education passion. As teachers, it seemed natural to take their agency name and give it an educational twist: /pyür/ is the pronunciation of the word “pure”. Derek knew he wanted to design an agency that would be different in a way that other agencies weren’t.
